The Dutch operator Qbuzz commissioned 43 electric buses from the VDL Citea range. The order consists of 32 Citea SLF-120 Electric buses plus 11 in the articulated version (Citea SLFA-180). The vehicles will be in service from the end of 2019 in the cities of Emmen, Assen and Groningen.

The 43 electric buses will be added to the other ten VDL  Citeas Electric already operating on the Q-Link lines with destinations in the city of Groningen.

Qbuzz’s goal is to gradually electrify bus transportation in the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe.

The 32 VDL Citeas SLF-120 Electric will have two doors and will be equipped with a 216-kWh battery pack while the 11 articulated ones will have three doors and a 288-kWh battery pack. Both will have a pantograph on the roof for quick charging.

Qbuzz has been operating in the Dutch regional public transport market since 2008. The company has 2,400 employees and a fleet of 780 buses, 26 trams and 10 rail cars. More than 300 thousand passengers are transported every day.
