Düsseldorf, Germany. The Rheinbahn transport company (737 buses and tramways in the fleet) signed a contract with Irizar for the supply of 10 electric-powered buses in the 12-meter size. This is the latest generation of the Irizar ie-bu model that will be presented to the public at the end of the year. «It integrates the innovations related to technology and design», they specify from Irizar, «among which stand out: weight reduction of about 10%, improvement of passenger capacity based on the regulations of the various countries».

Fitted with two doors, the vehicle accommodates 34 seated passengers plus two others in wheelchairs for a total capacity of 74 people. The range stated by the manufacturer is 200-220 km. The buses are recharged at night by interoperable chargers with a Combo 2-CCS socket and with the possibility of storing 300 kWh of energy.

The first units will be delivered to Düsseldorf by the end of the year and then during the first quarter of 2020.
