The UK coach operator Lothian is to take over this week the first new Plaxton Leopard coaches of the eight commissioned to Alexander Dennis. The vehicles are built on the Volvo B8R 4×2 chassis with Euro 6 engine matched to a ZF EcoLife automatic transmission. Among the safety features, there are the Advanced Emergency Braking System and Lane Departure Warning.

The 12.8 m buses are built to a new interurban specification with 49 seats that was developed in close collaboration between the operator and manufacturer.  Wheelchair users travel in a comfortable designated wheelchair bay in the main saloon opposite the centre doors.

The first of the new coaches will attend the UK Coach Rally in Blackpool on 6th and 7th of April, where they will be shown to the public.
