Evobus Italy is one of the twenty European branches of EvoBus GmbH and is responsible for Mercedes and Setra buses sold in the Italian market. The company was founded in 1996, one year after the birth of Evobus Gmbh following the demerger of Mercedes Benz bus division and the acquisition of Setra.
In the Italian headquarters of Sorbara di Bomporto (Modena, Italy), in addition to the sales division, there is the Used Vehicles Centre where are offered the second hand buses and coaches coming from the Evobus Centre located all over Europe. These vehicles can also searched on line through the Evobus Italy web site.
Evobus production is articulated in the Mercedes and Setra series that still retain their respective product identities. The Mercedes range includes the Sprinter City, Transfer and Travel minibuses, the Citaro citybus in different configurations and engines (diesel, Ngv, hydrogen via fuel cells) and the Capacity in 19.5 metres, the Integro intercity, the Tourino, Turismo and Travego coaches, the Intouro for service in rural areas (the latter is not sold in Italy). Setra buses are divided into three ranges (TopClass, ComfortClass and MultiClass) and 19 models covering the long distance segment and tourism. The buses are manufactured and assembled in Germany (Mannheim, Neu-Ulm), France (Ligny en Barros) and Turkey in the Mercedes Benz Türk factory (Hoşdere). In Spain (Sámano) are constructed frames while body parts and components in the Czech Republic (Holýšov).
