Iveco is one the leading manufacturer of public transport vehicles in the international market.
In 1999 Iveco and Renault Industrial Vehicles merged their respective bus divisions to give birth to Irisbus. On the one hand, therefore, there is the Italian legacy of the Fiat Group from which Iveco originated (it was founded in 1975 following the break up of the industrial vehicles operations by the Turin based company). On the other hand, there is the wealth brought to the table by Renault Industrial Vehicles, the French company founded in 1978 from the merging of Berliet and Saviem, and that later on also incorporated Czech company Karosa and French company Heuliez.
The Italian influence of Irisbus eventually prevailed when in 2003 the company passed entirely under the control of the Iveco Group, following its entire reorganization path that eventually in 2010 lead Iveco Irisbus to position itself as part of Fiat Industrial.
In May 2013 the Irisbus brand is replaced by Iveco Bus, the Iveco brand dedicated to passengers transport.
The variety of models in the Iveco Bus range perfectly satisfies the most diverse needs of urban transport networks agencies and management companies. In fact it includes: minibuses; school and line buses, touring coaches and Gran Turismo vehicles; low-floor buses in the short, standard and articulated versions, with diesel, CNG and hybrid diesel-electric engines.
The vehicles are produced in Iveco owned plants in France and in the Czech Republic.
In Modena there is also the center of the used buses.
