Minsk, Belarus. Here lies the Maz, which stands for’ Minsk Automobile Plant ‘. Public company with a wide range of products ranging from trucks, trailers, buses up special purpose vehicles. Around 20.000 units per year is the production capacity stated by the manufacturer that ranks among the largest of the former USSR in the area of heavy vehicles. Its vehicles are sold in fifty countries and assembled, as well as in Belarus, Lithuania, Egypt, Iran and Vietnam.

The story began in 1994 by a group of partisans who restrucuterd a workshop with public fundings. In 1947 the top five branded Maz trucks were assembled in this house. Buses arrived much later, in 1992 was inaugurated a production line for passenger transport with the first urban Maz 101. In 1999 it was the turn of intercity and then the trolley. Today, the Belarusian company ffers a dozen models and thirty versions for urban, intercity and international service. Vehicles are designed to withstand the hard temperatures of pnorthern Europe thanks to the powerful heating systems and special insulation of the passenger compartment, and the warm temperatures in the South countries.
