The Finnish PTO Nobina placed an order to BYD Europe for 106 electric buses of different type. With this order, which is the largest ever for eBuses in Finland, BYD enter for the first time the Finnish market.

Of these 106 vehicles, 64 units will be employed by Nobina for services in Helsinki. They are 20 BYD 12-metre low-floor models and 44 18-metre articulated ones. The remaining 42 units for Nobina’s operation in Turku are the BYD’s latest 15-metre three-axle low-floor eBus model. Deliveries of the vehicles for Helsinki will start at beginning 2021 while the others for Turku will be delivered by summer 2021.

The new 15-metre model from BYD offers a 47+3 seating capacity and delivers a single-charge range of 400km under SORT 2 test conditions.

After five years operating the pure-electric BYD brand, Nobina has racked-up over seven million ‘electric kilometres’, equal to reducing its CO2 emissions by approximately 7,500-tonnes.

BYD now has over 400 eBuses either delivered or on order with PTO fleets in 20 towns and cities throughout Scandinavia.
