The origins of Belkommunmash, Belarusian state-owned company, date back to 1973 when came into operation the Mrttz, the Minsk plant for trams and trolleybuses repairing. Between 1985 and 1987, following the restructuring and expansion of the public company, production capacity was increased and made the most amount of repairs for municipal electric transport. Between 1974 and 2005, the repairs amounted to more than 7000. Today the company, as well as vehicle maintenance, has a production line which consists of trolleybuses, trams and special vehicles.
