Izmir, 1964. Place and date of birth of the Turkish Bmc. The company debuted in the commercial vehicle sector gradually expanding production to other market segments: trucks, tractors, military means, special vehicles, buses. And also engines produced in the Bmc plants since 1986 in over 70 000 units under Cummins license. In 1984 the firm was acquired by the Cukurova Group, main holding on the Turkish market with 144 companies and over 34,000 employees. The production capacity stated by Bmc is 21,500 vehicles and 22 000 motor per year.
The staff amountes to 3,500 employees. As for buses, the range includes low floor models for city, suburban and interurban transport.
The production activities ceased in 2012 only to be resumed in 2016.
