STOPPED ACTIVITY 31 DECEMBER 2011. The Cacciamali story begins in 1974 from a small warehouse in Mairano in the province of Brescia. Initially the brothers Angelo and Sergio collaborated with some local body builders, first the Om of Brescia for painting cabins and then Ruggeri of Montichiari for painting and taping bus. First vehicles were bodied in the Eighties: a truck-shop and a schoolbus, both on Iveco Eurocargo mechanical but branded Cacciamali. The next decade marked the consolidation of the body builder, working mainly on Iveco chassis, opening to overseas markets with exports of buses, especially in schoolbus version. In 1998 was an important step with the launch of an innovative model with self supporting structure: the Europolis. A citybus in medium size (always on Iveco chassis) that liked so much to the top managers of Iveco bus division they purchased property. The Europolis thus entered the Iveco list while production remaining at Cacciamali plant. In 2000 the company acquired a production facility in Poland at Slupsk (town located 120 km from Gdansk). That was a plant previously used by Scania and resold four years later by the same Cacciamali to the Swedish company. Meanwhile, in the headquarter of Mairano facilities were restructured and rationalized and production was concentrated in a new building opened at the end of 2006.
