Evobus Italy is one of the twenty branches of EvoBus GmbH and as such, responsible for Mercedes and Setra buses for the Italian market. The company was founded in January 1996 and located at the headquarters of Sorbara di Bomporto, in the province of Modena. Here there is also the used vehicles center while in Bressanone (Bolzano), Besnate (Milan) and Monterotondo (Rome) are located Evobus Service Center. The Omniplus service network also includes forty workshops throughout the country.
EvoBus GmbH is one of the giants of the international bus industry and the property is part of the Daimler Group. It was established in 1995 following the demerger of Mercedes Benz bus division and the acquisition of Setra. It was thus created a single manufacturing and commercial facility Mercedes and Setra buses that still retain their respective product identities. The Mercedes series includes the Sprinter minibus in City, Transfer and Travel version, the Citaro citybus in different sizes, configurations and engines (diesel, Ngv, hydrogen via fuel cells) and the extralong Capacity in 19.5 m, the Integro intercity, the Tourino, Tourismo and Travego coaches, the Intouro for service in rural areas (the latter is not sold in Italy). Setra buses are divided into three ranges (TopClass, ComfortClass and MultiClass) and 19 models covering the long distance segment and tourism. The buses are manufactured and assembled in Germany (Mannheim, Neu-Ulm), France (Ligny en Barros) and Turkey in the Mercedes Benz Türk factory (Hoşdere). In Spain (Sámano) are constructed frames while body parts and components in the Czech Republic (Holýšov).
