HISTORICAL PRESENTATION

Fiat Professional is the brand for commercial vehicles manufactured by Fiat Light Commercial Vehicles Spa, a company 100 percent owned by Fiat Group Automobiles Spa. The range includes the following models: Ducato, Scudo Fiorino, Doblò, Strada. There are aslo van version derived from cars. Dedicated to passengers transport are Ducato and Scudo. The first offered in variants Combi, Minibus, Panorama and Schoolbus with capacity ranging from nine to 16 seats of the minibus version up to 30 for the schoobus. Scudo transports a maximum of eight passengers plus driver and is available in Combi and Panorama.
Sales of Fiat Professional vehicles have exceeded 430,000 units worldwide (2008 data supplied by the manufacturer) with a market share of 43 percent in Italy and 12 in Europe. Production is based in eight factories in the world among which the factory Sevel Val di Sangro, the largest in Europe for the production of light commercial vehicles. The Fiat Professional sales network has over 1,400 distributors in Europe and more than 7,500 service point.
The ancestors of Fiat commercial vehicles dating from the beginning of last century. These were two omnibus and a motorized little trailer for firefighters presented the 1901 Milan exhibition by the newly formed Italian Automobile Factory in Turin.
