The origins date back to 1985 when the Ghabbour family began to bodywork buses. After a decade, in 1994, was founded MCV (Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles). Company that became, and still is, a general agent of Daimler AG in Egypt. MCV initially focused on assembly of trucks from Germany and Brazil. Then, in 1996, the sector was expaned to the construction of bus bodies for Mercedes-Benz chassis. Activities, the latter, which soon became the primary business. In the following years the company grew and in 1998 opened an affiliated company, the Metal Industries Salehya (MIS), for the manufacture of semi-trailers, containers, tanks, tippers and equipment licensed by several European manufacturers (mainly Germans). Another area which is part of MCV Group is that of power generation through the establishment, together with the Group Togunm, of a new society: the MCV-Power System. Thanks to its experience in the production of buses and trucks, MCV also dedicated to passengers and goods transport through the creation of the following companies: MCV People Transport (2003) and MCV Cargo Transport (2006).
The MCV bus and coach production in the bus sector ranges from urban and intercity vehicles to schoolbuses and tourist coaches. The production capacity stated by the manufacturer is 3,200 vehicles per year. The 60 percent is for export (Europe, Africa, Middle East, Latin America).
