The Mercedes Benz brand has nearly a century of history. It debuted as a car brand in 1926 with the establishment of the Daimler Benz merged between two German companies: Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft (that since 1902 used the logo for its Mercedes cars) and Benz & Cie. Until 1998, the Mercedes Benz brand was owned by Daimler Benz then, in 2007, moved into the DaimlerChrysleri and with the separation of Daimler from Chrysler, it became the trademark of Daimler AG together with Maybach, McLaren, Smart, Freightliner, Western Star, Fuso, Setra , Orion and Thomas Built Buses.
The distinctive three-pointed star appears on cars, vans, trucks and buses, vehicles sold worldwide throughout subsidiaries. In Italy operates the Mercedes Benz Italy for the sale of cars and commercial vehicles with about 2,100 employees and headquarters in Rome.
