Rampini was born as an individual company in the late Forties. From the review of equipment for fire services and airport, the Umbrian company goes directly to the design and construction. Rampini is now a stock company and production includes, in addition to equipment for airports (scales, tape, barrels, ambulift, catering) and firefighting equipment, including vehicles for special purposes: the media director for Rai to vehicles satellite transmission to snowmobiles. Recent years have also added buses. These are small Ale, vehicles once made by former Modena Autodrome (in liquidation in 2003). The know-how and the exclusive right to produce and market the bus Ale are acquired in 2004 by Zev, a company of electric vehicles, along with the Rampini. In 2007 at the bus fair of Verona, Zev and Rampini presented Alè with electric motors and also with hydrogen engine and fuel cell. Today Ale is a vehicle branded Rampini. Next to the fuel cell and electric version was added the diesel variant Euro 5 standards.
The Rampini manufacturing plant is located in Passignano sul Trasimeno, town in the province of Perugia, and occupies an area of 80 thousand square meters of which 13 thousand built.
