Safra (Albigensian Society for the Automotive Manufacture and Repair) was founded in 1955 in Albi, a town in the south of France. Its first vocation is the bus bodywork on cab chassis. Over the years, the company continued to evolve adapting to the needs of the passengers' transport market. At the end of the 70s, Safra also started with the refurbishment and repair of vehicles.
Today the company lies on the Fonlabour site in the industrial area of Albi (8.5 hectares of which 16,000 square meters). Three are the production sectors: automotive bodies, industrial and railway vehicle bodies, interior finishes. With regard the passenger transport sector, the most important project is Businova, a multi-hybrid bus built on a bi-modular chassis.
