Volvo Buses is one of the biggest manufacturers of buses and chassis. The range includes urban, intercity and touring coaches, and services in the areas of financing, maintenance, vehicle diagnostics systems and traffic information. The productive activities of Volvo Buses are located in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa. The head office is in Gothenburg, Sweden. Extended is the after sales and spare parts network which has about 1,200 workshops located in 80 countries.
As regards Italy, buses on Volvo mechanical have been circulating in Italy since the Eighties through Barbi which at that time began to bodywork his touring coaches mainly on the chassis of the Swedish company. The models imported to Italy cover the urban segment with the Volvo 7700 from 12 meters (including hybrid), the intercity with Volvo 8700 from 10.8, 12.2 and 14.5 meters (even in the low entry version) and tourism with 9700 Hd and Hdh in 12, 12.3, 13 and 13.8 meters and 9900 Hdh Top line in 12.3, 13 and 13.8 meters.
