King Long is among the Chinese giants in bus & coach industry. The company designs, manufactures and sells buses for small, medium and large urban transport, interurban and tourism as well as special vehicles and vans. The capacity stated by the Chinese manufacturer is around 30 000 units per year. The types of vehicles in production are 200 with sizes between 4.5 and 18 meters. About the engines, the choice is between various engines such as Chinese Yuchai and Weichai, Japanese Nissan or European Cummins.
King Long was established in 1988 in Xiamen, East China town opposite the island of Taiwan. Since 2000, the company has been pursuing a policy of expansion into foreign markets. It is now present in over 55 countries all over the world with its own distribution network. In 2008 King Long has sold about 3,000 vehicles outside China. The company looks in particular to Western Europe where is present from 2005 in ten countries including Britain, Sweden, Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy. King Long has also developed partnerships with international companies of components and design.
