Given the rapid increase in Covid-19 infections as well as the expansion of risk areas worldwide, included the Karlsruhe region, the international conference & exhibition on the digitization of public transport ‘IT Trans’ (Karlsruhe, 1-3 December 2020) has been canceled as a live event and relaunched on the web. The organizers (the Public Transport Association (UITP) and Messe Karlsruhe) informed about that. “We have been following developments in recent weeks very closely and have been in constant communication with the relevant authorities. Their latest assessment made it clear to us that a cancellation of the event on the spot is unfortunately inevitable, ”said Mohamed Mezghani, UITP general secretary, and Britta Wirtz, managing director of Messe Karlsruhe.
An interactive event-community platform will enable the exchange of information and knowledge between all IT-Trans players: exhibitors, delegates, and speakers. Thus, each participant will be able to find partners with the same interests via matchmaking and meet with them virtually. Product counselling interviews, document exchange, speed dating and group discussions are also virtually possible to the full extent: via chat or video. The exhibitor presentations as part of the market update forums will also be available via live stream. Moreover, conference delegates can follow the conference lecture programme and take part in discussion panels.
