BYD Europe has delivered 16 electric-powered buses to the Italian transport company ATM based in Messina. This is the second fleet of electric buses in Italy. The model is the 8.7 meter BYD K7 with 53 total seats, lithium iron phosphate batteries and a slow and rapid charging system. The autonomy stated by the manufacturer is 200 km. The vehicles were purchased thanks to the European Axis 2 funds of the PON Metro 2014-2020.

“This hand-over”, points out BYD Europe, ” is the latest in a number of notable sales successes recently for BYD with major Local Authorities across Europe, including transport providers in Madrid, Valencia, Badajoz and Badalona in Spain, Coimbra in Portugal, and ongoing deliveries across Scandinavia. “

As for Italy, other BYD electric buses have been supplied to Turin, Novara and Milan.
